Ron Groen

Ron Groen is a West Michigan native who is eager to utilize his broad experience to assist a variety of organizations in finding their full potential. His financial and operations acumen are always put to good use.

Ron has nearly 40 years of finance, accounting and leadership experience working with and within small to medium-sized businesses. His work has been with businesses in the same space as many Sage clients, with sales typically ranging from $1M to $100M.

Ron began his career in public accounting, quickly becoming a CPA and reaching the principal level with Rehmann in Grand Rapids. Ron then joined a client that designed and manufactured interior graphics and signage, where he served as Vice-President of Finance and then Chief Operating Officer until the company was sold in 2014. After assisting with the transition, Ron became the CFO/General Manager of an industrial staffing firm in West Michigan.

In each of Ron’s roles, he has emphasized a collaborative, teamwork approach with both leaders and co-workers. He has worked to establish strong financial practices, create sound financial tactics, and facilitate teams to accomplish strategic objectives.

Financial practices include developing standard operating procedures, budgeting and forecasting, financial statement presentation, vendor management, job costing, customer value and operational cost development. Ron has a strong operational understanding of GAAS and has also been involved with company acquisitions and business valuations.

Ron has enjoyed his career primarily in West Michigan and is a graduate of Calvin University. He remains active as a CPA and is a member of the AICPA and MICPA. He has also earned a designation as a Certified Staffing Professional.
